Blog Post#16 "Ugly for Life"

Respond to the following quote:
"Everywhere she went, eyes looked away. But it was the most visible she'd ever felt"

Tally doesn't feel like she's being watched but like shes being acknowledged by other people. She feels like the world is shunning her because she didn't turn into a pretty when she was supposed to. Everyone is trying to ignore her because they know of what happened to her and they probably pity her because of that. The world is probably afraid to be near her because they feel that if they do get near to her they might not turn into a pretty.

Blog Post#14a"Last Trick"p.85

Respond to the following quote, what does it mean to you?
"We don't have to look like everyone else, Tally, and act like everyone else. We've got a choice. We can grow up any way we want"

It means that you can be different you don't have to be like everyone else you can grow up and be who you want to be. You can be unique. You won't have to be a follower you can be the followe. You have the choice of being in charge of yourself and no one else can decide for you.

Blog Post#13 "Fight" p.76

Two fights were presented in this chapter. Compare and Contrast both of them. List their similarities and differences. Why did each take place? What was the outcome of each one?(no less than one paragraph)

First Fight
* made up
*just a prank
*fight that wouldn't hurt anyone
*not really a fight
Second Fight
*not meant to be
*happened because Shay didn't want to be a pretty
*was an accident
The first and second fight are similar because they both seem to be fights. The first one was just a prank and the second one was an accident that happened because they were arguing about becoming a pretty. These fights were both similar because they seemed to be an accident.

Blog Post#12 "Waiting for David"

What does the following quote from the chapter tell you about the city?
"That was one thing about being outside the city: It made all that nature stuff they taught at school seem a lot more useful. She remembered now how rainwater fell on the mountains and soaked into the ground.."

Since the uglies live in a high-tech city they don't usually get to see anything real. Thy live in a city that consists of pure technology and barely anything you see there is natural. They barely see mountains, trees, and many other things that are part of nature.
