What do you think about Shay's description of a model? Shay and Tally have a messed up view of our time, but what have they got right? (1 paragraph)

Shay and Tally don't know much about models because at first they think these people were ugly. They do have right that some of the models in the magazine did have diseases. Shay is kind of right when she says models are kind of like a proffesional pretty.

Characterization of David : "He was an ugly, but he had a nice smile. And his face held a kind of confidence that Tally had never seen in an ugly before"
David is part of a civilization called the Smoke he helps lead uglies to the Smoke.

List the important events in Chron. order.

1) Some people rescue Tally from the fire.
2) Tally thinks the people who saved her are the "fire-bug-eyes" in the note
3) Tally finds out about the rangers and their job
4) Tally learns about helicopters
5) The rangers help out the Smokies
6) Tally reaches the bald head and waits for the "Smokies"


Respond to the following quote: "...Tally was stuck out here in the wild forever. Ugly for life. Her only way home was to betray her friend."

Tally knows that she has to chose to become a pretty and betray her friend or stay ugly and not betray her friend. She feels like she's stuck in a very sticky situation. She doesn't know how to get out of the situation.

Simile -"Her grippy shoes were ruined, their soles cracked like sunbaked mud, so she flew slowly, scooping up handfuls of water to soothe her burning face and arms." pg.174

What do you think the flying machine was? Who was in it? Make a prediction.

I think the machine was a helicopter or an airplane. I think that the people inside the helicopter or airplane are some uglies that live in the Smoke or Special Circumstances people that want to stop uglies from running away.

Blog Post #21 "The Worst Mistake"

Have you ever made yourself do something that you didn't want to do because you knew you had to?
Yes. One time when i was little i got really sick so my parents took to the doctor and they recommended i take some prescripted medicine. When i tasted the medicine it tasted so bad i could barely drink 1 spoonful. I knew i had to drink it to feel better but it seemed so hard because it was so nasty.About a week later i felt all better thanks to the medicine but i still hated the medicine.

I think that Tally is going to see a big machine probably because ,so far she hasn't encountered many animals.
