Blog Post#12 "Waiting for David"

What does the following quote from the chapter tell you about the city?
"That was one thing about being outside the city: It made all that nature stuff they taught at school seem a lot more useful. She remembered now how rainwater fell on the mountains and soaked into the ground.."

Since the uglies live in a high-tech city they don't usually get to see anything real. Thy live in a city that consists of pure technology and barely anything you see there is natural. They barely see mountains, trees, and many other things that are part of nature.
