Blog Post #52 "Down River"

If you were Tally, would you ask the Warden to make you pretty?

Yes. That way the promise made to Maddy would be kept. I would be scared but in order to test out the cure I would.

Blog Post #51 "Confessions"

Tally has finally come clean. Do you think she will regret it? Do you think David will change his mind on her?

I don't think Tally will regret it because she finally feels a big weight of her shoulders. I think David will not change his mind about her.

Blog Post #50 "Hippocratic Oath"

Should Maddy have forced Shay to take the "cure?" Why or why not?

No. The cure has some risks. Maybe Shay could have turned into a vegetable. Shay can chose to be cured because it's her life.

Blog Post #49 "night alone"

If you were Shay, would you get the cure? Why or why not?

Yes i would because i'd rather know what's happening and try to save people. I don't think i'd be able to live not knowing the truth.

Blog Post #48 "Get away"

Respond to the following quote from the chapter... what does it mean to you? "Tally thought of the lesions on Shay's brain, the tiny cancers or wounds or whatever they are that she didn't even know she had. They were in there somewhere changing her friend's thoughts, warping her feelings, gnawing at the roots of who she was."

I think it's talking about how Shay's changing, how she's no the same. It's describing what Shay is going through. The changing of her brain in a cruel way.

Blog Post #47 "Rescue"

Gibe a chronological list of important events in the chapter. What's the kicker at the end of the chapter.

1) Tally finds out about how Shay turned pretty and what happened to the Smokies
2)They rescue the Smokies
3)They have a plan for escaping from Dr. Cable
4)They find out David's dad is dead

Blog Post #46 "Inside"

Is this quote a play on words, or does it have adeeper meaning to the story?
"Radiology. Neurology. Magnetic Imaging," she read softly. "Operating Theathre Two."

I think it has a deeper meaning. It kind of shows the horrors of becoming a pretty in a way.

What "labels" do Tally and David find in the Special Circumstances building? Give a BRIEF description of what you think each means.

Neurology- They study your nerves.
Radiology- Something to do with x-rays.
Magnetic Imaging- They make your face perfect and simmetrical.

Describe Shay's appearance at the end of the chapter using textual evidence.

"She was tall and elegant, every feature perfection. Her eyes-deep and soulful, flecked with copper and gold- widened with a troubled look."
